And more ideas for St. Hils..........even for Christmas!

Hiya Folks!

Well - I have to confess I have decided to skip a bit further ahead beyond Harvest but have no fear - it WILL be done and Harvest will happen in St Hils this year!

However I have been very busy working out how to run our Advent Calendar this year. I began it as a new venture last year and am keen to keep it up this year as we had a great response from many people and the calendar was even linked to from a website in the Netherlands too!

So with this encouragement we felt it HAD to be done again this year.

And so our theme is very different from last year but you will have to visit us on the 1st December to find out what it is! However to give you a taster you can see Miss Enid (at the top here!) wearing her lovely warm Winter hat for the first time.................................as she will appear on one of the days of our Advent Calendar....

Welcome to our new St. Hilary's Blog page!

We hope you all like this new venture for St. Hilary's - our very own blog page where I will be sharing with you all my latest thoughts and ideas for St. Hilary's as they happen! Friends and family very often provide me with ideas too and I love to incorporate as many as work well for St. Hils!
I can't believe that we are already over half way through 2009!
(I am being attended to by Pebbles, our hand reared cockatiel who is now on my shoulder - hope he stays there and doesn't keep nagging my poor mouse and laughing hysterically at it - and the sad thing is - it is MY laugh so says Andrew, my husband - arghhhhh)

Where was I? Oh yes - I have only just finished my last page for St. Hils - ie our Summer Flower and Music Festival. Miss Enid is already enjoying her time in St. Hils as you can see by her providing entertainment for our guests and visitors to the festival.
However my mind has already moved on to our church Harvest Festival. AND an idea is already formulating for it and I can tell you it involves a very well known miracle performed by Jesus which involves five barley loaves and two fishes. Good job I ensured my last purchases at the Miniatura Dollshouse Show at the Birmingham NEC included five bread loaves! However - not sure that they ARE barley loaves! I have already got my fish so we are all set.......so keep a look out for our new Harvest page which we hope will be online in October.......

My mother in law will be with us soon for a short break so we know she will LOVE to see St. Hils for the first time since it has had the new chancel and sanctuary added. She enjoys seeing the pictures we give her but nothing will compare to her seeing it all in the flesh so to speak...

(Pebbles now in bedroom on bedroom door - hope he stays there and leaves poor me alone - he is a nightmare when doing St. Hils' photoshoots - cos he enjoys watching the wild birds come to our bird feeders in our garden whilst perched on top of the church. Strange though that he doesn't actually LIKE other wild birds very much because if he takes a particular dislike to one (usually a pigeon which he probably mistakes for a sparrowhawk!) he has a pretend spook around the whole of our downstairs..........daft bird! Be assured church is well swathed with towels etc to protect both church and bird!)

I am now looking for suggestions and ideas for our 2010 Calendar. So all of you out there do let me know if there are any characters or photos on the website that you would particularly love for me to include. As per this year the new 2010 Calendar will be available to download towards the end of the year....................
Anyway folks that is all for now...............
